A weekend of connection, healing, and fun.

By the Bay Camp is scheduled for August 7-9, 2026 in Occidental, California.

What is By the Bay Health Kids Camp?

By the Bay Health Kids Camp is a supportive weekend experience for children and teens who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The camp is thoughtfully designed to help young people feel supported, build connections, and continue their healing journey in a safe and welcoming environment.

By the Bay Camp is designed to:

  • Break the isolation children and teens feel after a death
  • Introduce peers who can personally relate to the death of someone close to them
  • Provide mentorship and professional therapeutic services
  • Teach healthy coping skills for managing grief in daily life
  • Develop resiliency in youth affected by death and grief

By the Bay Camp combines age-appropriate grief therapy with summer fun to help children and teens learn that a sense of normalcy in their lives is still possible.

What Campers Will Experience

  • Creative healing and memory activities guided by the bereavement team
  • Small group connection circles with trained volunteers
  • Camp games and team-building activities
  • Outdoor experiences like hiking and nature time
  • Campfire moments for reflection and connection
