Students / Internship Opportunities
By The Bay Health offers internship opportunities for social work, counseling and nursing students.
For those interested in careers related to bereavement —Master’s level students and post-graduate interns with a Master’s Degree in social work or counseling may apply for an internship with our Bereavement Counseling program. Interns typically work 20-24 hours a week conducting group and individual counseling sessions. Individual and group supervision training is provided by BBS-certified LCSWs and MFTs. Interns must be registered with the BBS, and have experience in the areas of loss and grief counseling. A stipend is available.
Pre-licensed Nurse Preceptorship
By The Bay Health offers a Hospice Nurse Preceptorship as an extended program through the University of San Francisco. This clinical experience is designed to provide the pre-licensed student an opportunity to integrate medical theory and practice. As a baccalaureate-prepared nurse, you will work closely with an experienced RN who will guide you through mentored clinical practice, encompassing all aspects of hospice and palliative care. Your preceptor will help you progress toward becoming a competent, confident nurse by observing, providing feedback and constructive criticism, and serving as a role model.
